I have an older video where I basically slam the cheap $.99 per square foot peel and stick vinyl flooring. On that video I have comments from both sides of the fence, some thanking me profusely to those that call me a flooring purist. To make a long story short I don't like a flooring that so easily fails, even at it's cheap price. Many told me that you can prime the floor, add adhesive, and use a weighted flooring roller and get a good flooring. I don't know about you, but that seems to defeat the purpose and that flooring is much more then $.99 per square foot then. So, call me a purist if you like, but I would rather just get a better quality flooring then. Of course, a few years ago there were no other DIY vinyl flooring. That has changed with the many new lines of vinyl plank flooring that act more like a floating laminate then anything else. There are two main types of this flooring, one that has self adhesive flaps that adhere to the next vinyl tile, and those that have locking edges just like the snap together laminate flooring. But because these are vinyl tiles, they have a much better water resistance then traditional laminate. Here are a couple of videos that I did on one particular line.
